About Jo

Everyone who hears Jo Dixon sing raves about her. She has a unique voice that excites and stuns. She goes wild with her rock performances but turns a ballad into a haunting memory. Her publisher calls her a 21st century Debbie Harry. She performs her own and other people’s music with the voice of a black diva while having an English rose complexion.

Jo is a natural but natural is not enough for the record producers or the demanding audiences of today. Camilla Dallerup, the star dancer of “Strictly Come Dancing” advises on her choreography and a legend in show business singing coaching, Ian Adam, was until he sadly died in May 2007, her vocal tutor, and now Ian's business partner kate Hughes teaches her.

The chance to make a charity single of the Beatles "Help" backed by the famous IDMC choir, came up last autumn and Jo's recording is phenomenal and awaiting the charity release. For this she recorded at "T" Stage Shepperton and then at Pinewood at Youki Yamamoto's studio with Matt Howe, who has engineered many top 10 hits, as engineer. Huge thanks to everyone who took part in this.

In September last year Jo shared the stage at the The Arts Club, Dover Street with Will Martin, who had just signed a multi album deal with Universal, and they did a duet as well as individual performances.

November saw Jo at the Soho Revue Bar, London, where she opened a show put on by GMTV's Nick Ede and which included guest stars Kelly Osbource and Booty Luv.

She has just recorded "Radio Station Lady" written by 60's pop star Twinkle, which is to be the ident of a new BBC radio pilot show, hosted by Strictly Come Dancing's Camilla Dallerup.
