The Arts Club, Dover Street, London

A host of stars joined forces to raise money for Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and entertain the guests in ways they have never done before.

Rachel Pether an exciting new presenter introduced the show.

Camilla Dallerup, Ian Waite and Izabella and Stephen Hannah of Strictly Come Dancing fame performed there  and Camilla sang for her supper for the first time.

Camilla re-enacted the classic scene from the movie “The Fabulous Baker Boys” singing ‘Making Whoopee’ accompanied on the piano by  film score composer Mark Ryder, during the champagne reception. Camilla and Ian opened the after dinner show performing an all singing all dancing duet and then performed five show dances along with Izabella and Stephen. The fabulous Darren Day closed the show with his haunting version of ‘The Curtain Falls’.

New Singing Sensation ‘Jo Dixon’ made her debut that night thrilling her audience with her black diva type voice although she is an English rose. Jo was backed by a hand picked group of extremely talented musicians. Jo performed her own acoustic version of “Gone,”  a song she wrote called “Serious” and a duet with Darren “Day, “I Don’t Want To Talk About It.”

Ok Magazine were also at the event to catch the stars in action. Click the link to see "Sing and Dance Your Arts Out".

An Evening with Carla Lane

Last April saw the start of a new tradition at DWF.  Once a year we decided to host a charity event, so in the glamourous setting of The Orangery at Shepperton Film Studios, 150 people gathered to be wined and dined under a ceiling of twinkling fairy lights.  Anton du Beke and Erin Boag of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing wowed the crowd with their quickstep and a dance lesson with Anton raised several 100’s of pounds for Carla Lane’s ‘Animaline’ animal sanctuary.  Eva Pope, Lyndsey de Paul, Jean Boht, Coronation Street’s Katy Ford and ex Home and Away star Martin Dingle Wall were amongst the celebrity guests who danced the night away to the Rock n Roll sounds of Teddy Moon and his band.  The evening was a resounding success and woth every agonising minute of organisation.  This year the event is to be held at the Arts Club in Dover Street on July 22nd.
